UWNNS's Response to COVID-19

UWNNS Emergency Assistance Fund:

Supporting local work serving our region’s most vulnerable neighbors

The region's health and human service organizations are experiencing a surge in demand for services from neighbors and communities significantly impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. UWNNS is launching our Emergency Assistance Fund to respond to this crisis.

It’s critical that the organizations offering basic needs have additional resources to respond to this challenging time.  We have experienced an increase in calls expressing high needs due to business closures, concerns over stable housing situations, and stress over how families and individuals will make ends meet. Please join us in supporting our fellow northern Nevadans facing economic hardships. Your donation can be the difference in your neighbor's life. Click below to start your donation.

Effective July 1,2020, 95% of your donation will directly support northern Nevadans' needs during the COVID-19 pandemic and 5% will support the management and operations of the Emergency Assistance Fund. Please view a list of resources supported by this fund at our COVID-19 Information & Resources page.

The CARES Act has outlined new incentives to individual and corporate donors to make charitable donations. Find out more on our New Tax Advantages for Donors page.

Thank you to the following supporters who have made gifts to the fund: NV Energy Foundation, Bank of America, Microsoft Reno, Wells Fargo Foundation, State Bar of Nevada Gaming Law Section, Charles Schwab, City National Bank, U.S. Bank Foundation, Washington Federal Bank, State of Nevada Attorney General's Office, and numerous individuals and families. We are grateful for every donor who is contributing to make this Emergency Assistance Fund possible.

In addition, the Community Foundation of Western Nevada has established the COVID-19 Relief Fund to support other long-term needs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in northern Nevada. We stand together in supporting one another's efforts to aid our community.
