JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Impact Programs Manager is responsible for the successful operation and ongoing implementation of UWNNS’ community impact programs and collaborates with the Community Impact (CI) Team to ensure all UWNNS programs are successfully maintained. The four main programs which will be managed are Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL), Special Assistance Fund for Emergencies (SAFE), Emergency Food and Shelter (EFSP), and Ride United Last Mile Delivery (RULMD). This role is also responsible for coordinating aspects of the organization’s government reporting and grant reporting function, including budget maintenance, administration of reports from partner organizations and maintaining strong partner relationships. The Community Impact Program Manager reports directly to the Senior Manager, Grant and Impact and Director of Community Impact Operations and Director, Community Impact Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
COMMUNITY IMPACT
Effectively manage and maintain four core programs of UWNNS.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) – A book gifting program that mails FREE high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth until their fifth birthday. The Program Manager serves as the Website Administrator for DPIL, managing registration approvals, addressing customer inquiries, and recruiting community champions. Additionally, they are responsible for extracting and tracking data from the DPIL website.

Special Assistance Fund for Emergencies (SAFE) – The program supports Northern Nevada residents with utility assistance. The Programs Manager will cultivate strong partnerships with community organizations, oversee client approvals, and manage both budgets and client tracking to ensure effective program delivery.

Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) – A program which provides supplemental funding to social services organizations to provide greater services in Northern Nevada. The Programs Manager will gain a general understanding of the EFSP program structure and support the EFSP Local Board Chair in Northern Nevada jurisdiction The manager will contact partners, monitor spending, and report to the Local Boards and EFSP National Board.

Ride United Last Mile Delivery (RULMD) – A home delivery program that brings food and essential supplies to those that are transportation limited. The Programs Manager will support the program by maintaining communications with ongoing RULMD partners; schedule deliveries, communicate with partners on delivery status, and cancel deliveries when necessary

Represent UWNNS in the community with various audiences, educating about the community impact of UWNNS; tie work to positive community results; promote engagement of the community with UWNNS and its work.

Clearly communicate the UWNNS mission, values, and funding opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent communicator and facilitator.

Ability to use Microsoft Office, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Experience in research and planning; knowledge of nonprofits, human services, and/or philanthropy.

Strong analytical ability; must be able to interpret, report and use data.

Ability to lead and convene community groups.

Well-organized, efficient, detail oriented.

Ability to work on many different types of tasks and work well with others to accomplish the work of the organization.

Strong volunteer management skills and ability to staff volunteer committees.

Have a reliable vehicle; possess a current driver’s license and auto insurance, to complete some required tasks for UWNNS.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

A minimum of three years of work in a relevant human service field or another related field.

A minimum of two years of program management experience is preferred.

Knowledge of program evaluation methodologies and outcome measurement preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to 3.5 hours; have the use of both hands; ability to reach with both hands and arms; to speak clearly and hear callers when answering the phone. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk throughout the office to perform office duties. The employee must occasionally lift, carry and/or push up to 25 pounds (e.g. packing campaign materials). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Early Education Manager supports and advances United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra’s mission (UWNNS) to link the community’s will and resources to improve lives. This position is primarily responsible for implementing the Nevada Ready! Pre-K grant that provides access to high-quality Pre-K experiences for children in northern Nevada and related education initiatives. The position works closely with the Early Education Senior Manager and requires proficiency in Excel, budgeting experience, and a solid understanding of grants. Additionally, the role recruits and engages early learning centers and community partners to deliver training and professional development, ensuring a positive experience for children, families, and staff throughout the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT & IMPLEMENTATION

Responsible for supporting the planning, management, and implementation of high-quality Early Education programs in various settings within northern Nevada.

Recruits and guides early education community partners to implement the program.
-
Provides day-to-day management of initiatives to ensure compliance and all goals are accomplished.

Develops and facilitates training, coaching, and feedback sessions with directors, teachers, and staff to incorporate best practices for early education community partners.

Interacts and works with early education community partners to build collaboration and improve service delivery systems.
-
Identifies early education community partners and works in collaboration with early education staff to adapt program content and materials to meet the identified needs of participants.

Provides accurate and timely data collection / input and reports to meet funding requirements in the following areas: child demographics, professional development, curriculum, program evaluation, individualized support, school readiness, transition to kindergarten, health and safety, family engagement, and comprehensive services for families.

Develops and maintains a knowledge base of current policies, standards, and issues affecting the childcare and early childhood education industries, standards, and policies on the local and national levels.

Oversees the maintenance of project files, reviews sub-grantee invoices for accuracy, and prepares reimbursement documents for submission.

Assures that all grant and financial procedures and payments to partners comply with policies and procedures regulating United Way operations and the Sub-Grantee Agreements.

Responsible for monitoring the overall program budget.

Collaborates with the United Way team to ensure that all program and financial procedures are accountable to financial requirements and regulations and completed in a timely manner.

Establishes and builds relationships within all areas of care affecting young children and their families in northern Nevada.

Works with the Community Leadership and UWNNS team in the development of strategic plan and outcomes of UWNNS program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with high-quality Pre-K programs, creative curriculum, and teaching strategies gold assessments is preferred.

Ability to work and engage with early education providers, local/state government, and community partners.

Working knowledge of early childhood education and childcare standards.

Strong analytical skills, project management, and process improvement experience.

Ability to build strong, productive relationships and motivate individuals to obtain results with diverse groups at all levels, both internally and externally.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental laws and regulations.

Demonstrated leadership abilities with exceptional written/oral communication and presentation skills.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field including Family Studies, Human Services, etc. is preferred.
